Massachusetts rehab center to operate like a hotel
Rehab Regs, May 26, 2006
Wingate Healthcare in Needham, MA, has opened up a chain of luxury rehab centers in the Boston area, according to the Boston Globe.
The company created Pavilion Suites to operate as a short-term rehab center for patients who are unable to stay at a hospital or receive proper treatment at home.
Pavilion Suites offers private and semi-private suites with cabinets, closets, menu dining, concierge and salon services, flat-screen televisions, and wireless Internet access.
Patients are treated like hotel guests while they receive a wide range of therapies and skilled nursing.
Unlike nursing homes, a typical patient stay is one to two weeks. A regular room in the facility costs $300 a day, the Globe reported.
