Dance troupes in need of physical therapists

Rehab Regs, May 12, 2006

Dance troupes across the country are in need of physical therapists, reported the Medill News Service.

The field of dance therapists is a fairly new one, but much like sports therapists, it is made up mostly of orthopedic therapists.

Dance therapists help dancers prevent and treat injuries by attending shows and practice sessions.

Laban, a dance school in London, is one of the only schools in the world that offers specific training for dance therapy, though Northwestern University is working closely with the renowned dance school, Joffrey, in Chicago.
