Georgia passes direct access legislation

Rehab Regs, May 5, 2006

Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue signed into law legislation that authorizes direct patient access to their services, according to PT Bulletin Online.

The bill makes Georgia the 41st state to provide direct access for fitness, wellness, and prevention services and for patients who have a previous diagnosis.

The law passed a month after Mississippi became the 40th state with direct access in March, PT Bulletin reported.
