Nebraska ensures physical therapy standards

Rehab Regs, April 28, 2006

Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman signed a law into action last week to update physical therapy standards in the state, the American Physical Therapy Association reported.

The Nebraska State Practice Act updated standards that had been in place since 1957. The law ensures that only qualified PTs can perform physical therapy in Nebraska.

It also updates the state's definitions of physical therapy, regulations, and supervisory requirements for aides and assistants, the American Physical Therapy Association said.
