Study: PT can prevent frailty in the elderly

A recent study by the Yale University School of Medicine shows that physical therapy can help delay and possibly prevent frailty in the elderly, according to the Arizona Republic.

The study, published in the most recent Archives of Internal Medicine, takes a look at people who played sports growing up and into their later years of life. Those people often incurred minor injuries that built up into major ones later in life, reported the Republic.

Physical therapy can help reduce some of those risks by cutting down on the stress the body puts on itself.
