APTA endorses ergonomic chair for back support
Rehab Regs, January 6, 2006
The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has endorsed the Zody task chair by Haworth Inc of Holland, MI.
"We are pleased to endorse this award-winning ergonomic chair," said APTA President Ben F Massey, Jr, PT, MA, in a press release. "Zody offers a high degree of individual control and is reasonably priced. We particularly favor the range of adjustment features it offers for users' comfort."
Zody is the first chair endorsed by APTA. Zody's ergonomic features include PALTM, a back support system with passive pelvic support, and an asymmetrical lumbar support system that allows the user to increase support to either side of the lower back without forward displacement.
The high-performance chair also features four-way adjustable arms, a sliding seat, balanced three-point tilt mechanism, and overall range of adjustments. Zody also offers a gel seat option that is designed to lower pressure on the user's lower hip area and reduce lower back muscle activity.
