AOTA offers teleconference on cap help

The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is offering its members a free teleconference on January 12 to help answers questions about Medicare's therapy cap. The call will take place at 4 p.m. EST, and will feature a briefing and Q&A session with Christina Metzler, AOTA Chief Public Affairs Officer, and Leslie Stein Lloyd, Esq., director of reimbursement and regulatory policy department.

They will discuss what the changes mean to OTs and how to protect patients.

The following questions will be answered:

  • Will the cap really be in effect until Congress takes action?
  • Where did Congress get the idea for this alternative?
  • Why is it only for one year?
  • Why does Congress keep changing its mind?
  • Why can't we just repeal the cap with so many Representatives supporting repeal?
  • Will this change my life?
  • What else did Congress do in the final days of 2005 to Medicaid and other programs?
