Video series helps patients post-therapy
Rehab Regs, November 18, 2005
A new video series called "Physical Therapy to Go" recently hit the market to help patients deal with back, neck, and shoulder pain after leaving physical therapy.
The series of videos takes patients through the exercises that most therapists often recommend. But instead of patients trying to decipher still pictures or complex instructions, the videos demonstrate the exercises visually.
Patients are guided through the videos by licensed PTs and include instruction on the correct performance of several exercises for a variety of injuries.
The videos are not meant as a substitute for actual physical therapy, but as a way for patients to perform the exercises their PTs recommend they do at home.
More information on the videos is available at www.pttogo.com.
PTs who have recommended the videos to their patients have found the patients are more likely to perform the exercises and do them correctly with the visual aides.
