Rehab Regs, May 19, 2005

A Swedish study has found that high-impact physical activity appears to be a factor in urinary incontinence in primiparous women, while low-impact activity appears to promote continence, according to Health & Medicine Week. The study cited risk factors for urinary leakage also included symptoms of a dysfunctional pelvic floor and connective tissue disorders. Researchs also found that if urinary leakage was present before pregnancy, it persisted in most women during pregnancy and one year postpartum, reported Health & Medicine Week.
