Get back in the swing of things
Rehab Regs, April 28, 2005
To avoid injury, golfers should begin exercising a few weeks in advance of the season to prepare their bodies. According to The Halifax Daily News (Canada), some suggestions include walking 20 to 30 minutes a day, three to four times a week; practicing your golf grip; and practicing your back swing, keeping the club at waist level and slowly increasing to a full swing. Statistics show that the lower back and shoulders are particularly susceptible to injury among golfers, especially with older participants because the aging process can reduce flexibility, reported the News.
