Therapists are now making work calls

Rehab Regs, April 14, 2005

Many occupational therapists are now offering visits to a patient's office to evaluate his or her workplace environment, according to The Washington Post. Even with the perfect chair and desk arrangements, minor variations in setup can make all the difference. Laptop computers sometimes pose problems because they are small. While it might be the right size for an individual's hands, it's too low for his or her head and can lead to neck and upper back strain. Another common problem is that many workers have ergonomically adjustable chairs, but don't know how to adjust them properly, reported the Post.
