The first interactive metronome available in northern Kentucky is helping children with attention-deficit disorder and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer. The computer-based program is meant to improve motor skills, information processing, and focus. By listening to a series of rhythmic beats through headphones and matching those beats by clapping or foot tapping, patients can improve motor control while also curbing impulsivity and aggression. The treatment is also commonly used with diseases and disorders including Parkinson's, autism, Asperger Syndrome, and strokes, reported the Enquirer
