Pair pitches a solution to injury
Rehab Regs, February 24, 2005
After years of seeing the negative effects of young athletes pushing themselves too hard too soon, a pitching coach and a physical therapist teamed up to teach them a better way to succeed, according to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. Mark Fuller, a former pitcher for the New York Mets and Auburn University pitching coach, and Steve Kisor, a physical therapist specializing in injury prevention, have created the Opelika Center, which houses indoor batting cages, pitching mounds, and a softball and baseball practice area for young athletes. Although the men guarantee no scholarships or professional baseball contracts, they do promise that athletes will feel better about themselves and will prepare their bodies for safe sports participation, reported the Ledger-Enquirer.
