CARF introduces standards for child and youth services
Rehab Regs, February 3, 2005
Responding to requests from providers for accreditation standards tailored to services for children and youth, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) introduced new standards last month, according to a CARF press release. They are published in the new "Child and Youth Services Standards Manual," and are intended for organizations and programs that provide welfare, protection, and well-being services to children and their families. The standards can be applied on CARF surveys that lead to accreditation as early as July 1, and providers must apply the standards for a minimum of six months prior to a CARF survey. Providers and payers can e-mail cys@carf.org for more information about the standards and the CARF accreditation process.
