CORF requirements receive more specification
Rehab Regs, October 14, 2004
Transmittal 21, which CMS released on September 24, adds additional clarity to the existing general requirements and coverage and non-coverage of services provided in comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facilities (CORFs), according to the PT Bulletin Online. As multidisciplinary facilities, CORFs are required to perform physical therapy services, but have the option of providing occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, respiratory therapy, and other services. Visit http://www.cms.hhs.gov/manuals/pm_trans/R21BP.pdf to view the transmittal.
