IDEA efforts renewed by Congress

Rehab Regs, September 30, 2004

Responding to pressure from rehab groups across the country, Congressional leaders have renewed efforts to reauthorize the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), according to PT Bulletin Online. Both the Senate and the House appointed conference committees to resolve differences between the versions of the IDEA reauthorization bills, known as S 1248 and HR 1350 respectively. However, the negotiators have less than three weeks to reach a compromise before Congress adjourns for the November election campaign, according to the Bulletin.
