Massage table uses sound and vibration

Rehab Regs, September 9, 2004

A vibrating table may be an alternative approach to mainstream massage therapy, according to The [Syracuse, NY] Post-Standard. Some massage therapists are using these tables to enhance relaxation because they initiate a systemic response from the client's nervous system. The tables are custom-made with speakers mounted underneath, causing the table to vibrate. Massage therapists use specially produced CDs, which target the parasympathetic or relaxation state of the autonomic nervous system, according to The Post-Standard.
