House passes stroke legislation

Rehab Regs, July 1, 2004

Earlier this month, the House passed legislation endorsed by the American Physical Therapy Association to authorize federal funding for training physical therapists and other health professionals in stroke prevention and treatment. House passage of the "Stroke Treatment and Ongoing Prevention (STOP) Act" (H.R. 3658), now sends the measure to the Senate, according to PT Bulletin Online, where similar legislation has not yet been acted upon.
