Sam's Club, a division of Bentonville, AR-based Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., will offer group health insurance to small businesses beginning in Tennessee and nine other states nationwide, according to the Nashville [TN] Business Journal. Sam's Club is offering the new benefit through an affiliation with independent insurance company Answer Financial, based in Encino, CA. The small group plans are Preferred Provider Organization plans with a range of deductibles, coinsurance and out-of-pocket limits. Sam's Club plans to target companies with less than 100 employees. The wholesale club already offers members commercial property, liability, and worker's compensation insurance, as well as auto, home, and life insurance.
