Home-based therapy aces for stroke patients

Receiving therapy at home could slow the rate of deterioration in the ability of stroke patients to carry out daily living tasks, according to a new study from the University of Glasgow. According to Biotech Week, therapy-based rehabilitation services for stroke patients living at home reduced the odds of a decline in daily living tasks by 28% and increased the ability of patients to undertake activities of daily living by 14%, according to the study. Strokes are some of the most frequent cause of disability in developed countries and accounts for considerable costs for health and social services.
