  • Alabama. No direct access.
  • Alaska. Unlimited, with no restrictions to access. License revocation or suspension results if a PT fails to refer a patient to another qualified professional when the patient’s condition is beyond PT training.
  • Arizona. Unlimited, with no restrictions to access. A PT shall refer a client to appropriate healthcare practitioners if PT is contraindicated or if the PT has reasonable cause to believe symptoms or conditions are present that require services beyond the scope of his or her practice.
  • Arkansas. Requires physician referral for bronchopulmonary hygiene, debridement, and wound care.
