Study shows knee surgery no more effective than PT

A recent study has determined that patients who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery for osteoarthritis fared no better than those who received medication and PT, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

The study, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine this week, found that patients who received surgery showed no significant gains in pain, stiffness, or physical function two years after surgery, the Journal reported.
