South Carolina man accused of running fraudulent therapy clinics

A 57-year-old South Carolina man has been accused of running fraudulent physical therapy clinics in the Boston area from 2000 to 2006, according to www.boston.com.
The Web site reported on Thursday that Tu Quy Muy, of North Charleston, is charged with 54 counts of mail fraud in U.S. District Court in Boston for allegedly mailing false insurance claims and related documents.
Mai, formerly of Dorchester, MA, is also accused of paying people to stage automobile accidents so they could be treated at his clinics and submitting some insurance claims for patients that did not require evaluation or treatment. If Mai is found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
