Reporting improper billing practices is never easy

Rehab facilities have to be concerned with their billing practices on a daily basis. 

It might seem easy to tack on an extra CPT code or an extra 15 minutes of time spent with a patient, but because of ethical reasons and potential legal consequences, most providers are conscientious about billing accurately and honestly.

But what happens if you discover another facility isn’t being truthful with its billing and treating practices? What do you do if a patient comes to your facility and mentions a prior therapist did something illegal? Or what do you do if a current employee tells you something in confidence that his or her previous facility was doing that wouldn’t hold up to good treatment standards?
