AOTA endorses United Nations policy

The American Occupational Therapy Association is endorsing the United Nations policy on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, according to an association press release. The United Nations General Assembly adopted the policy in 2006 to, "promote, protect, and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights by person with disabilities." The policy includes issues such as:
- Accessibility
- Personal mobility
- Health
- Education
- Employment
- Habilitation and rehabilitation
- Participation in political life
- Equality and nondiscrimination
