APTA facing a potential lawsuit
Rehab Regs, February 8, 2008
The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Orthopaedic Section of the APTA is facing a lawsuit filed against them by the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), according to an APTA press release. On February 1, the NATA filed a suit against the APTA alleging that the APTA and the Orthopaedic Section "violated the anti-trust law by seeking to deny athletic trainers access to the market for manual therapy and by coercing physical therapists to refrain from educating athletic trainers in certain techniques." The APTA is reviewing the NATA's complaint, according to the release.
