ER docs see more uninsured patients

More than 70% of 2,000 emergency room (ER) physicians surveyed said they treated more uninsured patients over the past year than in prior years, and almost 80% said they expect that number to grow again in the coming year.

The survey, released by the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, found that ER physicians believe 30% of their patients are uninsured.
