CMS releases updated RAC demonstration report

On January 6 CMS released an update to its three-year RAC demonstration program report previously published in July 2008. The update includes appeals statistics through August 31, 2008. According to the update, providers appealed 22.5% of denials and 34% of the denials were overturned.
CMS will continue to provide updated reports until all of the appeals are resolved. To view the updated report, visit the CMS RAC Web site.
