In recent years, hospital supply chain professionals, including materials managers, have been asked to apply their experience and skills to moving their organizations forward in competitive environments.
There are clear signs their responsibilities are shifting from negotiating a never-ending procession of contracts for commodity products and overseeing areas such as laundry and the mailroom to orchestrating the distinct supply chain needs of far-flung hospital networks.
