News: Flash drive holds patient records

A flash drive that will store all of a patient's health records and be accessible through any computer will be available for purchase at 103 Kroger stores in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky this week, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The inch-long device, called MedFlash, was sold by Florida-based Connectyx Technologies Inc. and introduced in January. The cost will be $29.95 and is small enough to be carried around a patient's neck or on a keychain.

Currently, fewer than 5 million Americans have a portable personal record, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
