Study: Product superiority is top decision criteria for purchases of movable capital equipment

Product superiority outweighed physician preference as the most important first decision criteria for clinical managers when considering purchasing new major movable equipment for the operating room (OR), according to the results of a study conducted by VHA, Inc., in Irving, TX.
In fact, physician preference wasn’t even the second most important criteria. Standardization and price were second and third, respectively, with physician preference coming in fourth. This is a sharp departure from recent history, says Nik Fincher, senior director of capital asset services at VHA.
