The person-to-person transmissibility of COVID-19 droplets when people talk, cough, or sneeze warrants travel restrictions, social distancing, and the wearing of face coverings. Therefore, GME programs must explore alternative avenues to replace in-person candidate interviews during the COVID-19 pandemic and possible similar situations in the future.
