One hundred percent of osteopathic programs in four specialties have recently completed the transition to the single accreditation system.

All formerly AOA-accredited programs in neurology, neuromusculoskeletal medicine (three-year programs), physical medicine and rehabilitation, and urological surgery have achieved ACGME accreditation. These four specialties join four others—anesthesiology, diagnostic radiology, obstetrics/gynecology, and pediatrics—that have previously completed the transition.

To date, 87% of AOA-accredited positions that existed in 2015 have achieved ACGME accreditation.
