Nearly three-fourths of the osteopathic medical students and graduates who participated in the 2017 American Osteopathic Association Match Day matched into a residency program. Of the 3,109 total available residencies, 2,214 were filled. Family medicine was the top specialty with 610 matches, a 3% increases from 2016. It was followed by internal medicine (527 matches) and emergency medicine (306 matches).
