This week the ACGME announced a four-year initiative to promote improvements in the clinical learning environments of ACGME-accredited sponsoring institutions and their programs. The Pursuing Excellence in Clinical Learning Environments initiative aims to generate ideas and tests innovations to improve patient care by providing funding through a competitive award process.
The ACGME is partnering with 21 other healthcare education organizations for the initiative and partners will meet regularly to share insights and expertise. In February the ACGME will issue a request for proposals but is currently seeking input from sponsoring institutions about their interest in participating. Their survey can be found here. The deadline is December 15.
