The Beatles recorded "We Can Work It Out" on October 20, 1965. They spent nearly 11 hours on the song, which was by far the longest amount of studio time spent on one recording up to that point, and it has often been hailed as an anthem for team building. But is it? The upbeat and jolly "We can work it out" is darkly preceded by "Try to see it my way; only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong," and on the whole, the song's lyrics give no indication that John Lennon has any actual intention of working anything out with Paul McCartney?he is solely bent on putting across his point of view.
