Residency programs teaching the cost of healthcare

In response to the Affordable Care Act’s push for physicians to provide high-value care and the growing number of patients with high-deductible health plans, residency programs and medical schools are now integrating discussions on healthcare costs, value, and effectiveness into their curriculum.
A recent survey conducted by the Association of American Medical Colleges found that more than 90% of responding medical schools required a course on healthcare costs and about 40% also addressed it in elective courses.
