Earlier this year, HCPro conducted its annual Residency Coordinator Salary Survey. Based purely on data from respondents, the following are the average coordinator to resident/fellow ratios for specialties that had more than 10 survey submissions:
• Pediatrics: 1:29
• Radiology-diagnostics: 1:24
• Internal medicine: 1:23
• Emergency medicine: 1:20
• Surgery: 1:18
• Obstetrics and gynecology: 1:17
• Anesthesiology: 1:17
• Psychiatry: 1:15
• Family medicine: 1:15
• Pathology-anatomic and clinical: 1:14
• Otolaryngology: 1:13
• Neurological surgery: 1:12
• Neurology: 1:12
• Orthopedic surgery: 1:12
• Urology: 1:12
• Ophthalmology: 1:9
• Transitional year: 1:7
• Radiation oncology: 1:6
