According to a survey conducted by Deloitte, physicians expect half of their compensation to come from value-based models in the next 10 years. In response, the physicians surveyed identified the following skills as being the most crucial for future success in a value-based payment model.
• Interpersonal/communication skills (91%)
• Broadened health IT skills (80%)
• Leadership and management skills, including planning and financial management (74%)
• Employment contract negotiation skills (71%)
• Financial and actuarial skills (64%)
