Location, lifestyle most important to residents

When considering practice opportunities, final-year residents weigh several different factors. According to a survey of residents conducted by Merritt Hawkins, 69% said geographic location was one of the most important factors, followed by lifestyle at 61%.

Other factors that residents reported as being important were having adequate call hours and personal time (60%), a good financial package (58%), and proximity to family (48%).
