This year's National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), also known as the Match, was the largest on record. According to the data released by the NRMP, more than 41,000 medical school students and graduates applied for about 30,000 available residency positions, the most in the program's history. Of those available positions, nearly 96% were filled.
