The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) recently announced that nearly 2,200 graduating osteopathic medical students successfully matched with residency programs this year.
The students who matched through the AOA Intern/Resident Registration Program represent 75% of the total number of individuals who applied. Of those participants, 54% percent of the total matches were for primary care programs, about 23% were for internal medicine, 6% were for general surgery, and 13% were for emergency medicine.
