Dear readers,

This week’s edition of Residency Program Insider features a brief about the Merritt Hawkins survey of final-year medical residents. While the brief mainly focuses on the recruitment figures, the survey also found that 39% of respondents thought they were unprepared to handle the “business side” of medicine and 56% said they received no formal instruction regarding medical business issues.

That’s a pretty significant percentage of residents reporting a gap in knowledge. How are your programs teaching residents about these issues? Let me know.

Thanks for reading!
