A judge recently ruled that Anthony J. Garcia, a physician accused of murdering four people connected to a Nebraska residency program, is fit to stand trial, the Omaha World-Herald reports.

Garcia is charged with murdering four people linked to the Creighton University residency program he was dismissed from in 2001. The murders occurred in 2008 and 2013.

Psychiatrists hired by the prosecution and the defense have ruled that Garcia is mentally competent to stand trial. Garcia has pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to Associated Press reports
