More than 7,000 trainees matched into advanced residency and fellowship programs through the National Resident Matching Program’s (NRMP) Specialties Matching Service this year.
The 2014 appointment year was the largest in the history of the Specialties Matching Services, according to information recently released by the NRMP. Several new specialties joined the matching service this year, including child abuse, geriatric medicine, and surgical oncology.
