When Lori Dickerson, PharmD, joined the ­Trident/Medical University of South Carolina Family ­Medicine residency program in 1995, resident research was ­unstructured. Residents worked on projects if they were interested in a subject, but the types of projects residents pursued varied and not every project was completed.
