A hospital's patterns of care in areas such as patient preference and use of resources could have a major impact on shaping residents' personal practices as physicians, according to a report from two students in the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. "What Kind of Physician Will You Be?" shows variations in medical care among 23 academic medical centers and teaching hospitals in the United States, drawing data from the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care.
