The HCPro 2012 Residency Coordinator Salary survey is complete and the results are in. One piece of information retrievable from the data is that program budgets are not budging.
Based on responses from 562 coordinators about their program’s budget, in the last year:
- 3% had a sufficient increase
- 15% had a slight increase
- 46% stayed the same
- 26% had a slight decrease
- 10% had a sufficient decrease
There are a few ways to look at these numbers. Of those whose budget changed, decreases (36%) doubled the number of increases (18%). For those looking on the positive side, almost half of respondents say their budget is consistent and 64% did not see any decrease in the past year.
Survey data shows that there was slight growth at the bottom of the coordinator pay scale over the last 18 months, but the number of budgets staying put or decreasing (82%) indicates that salaries are stuck in neutral.
