Residency programs face increasing pressure to document robust faculty development. At the same time, there is also increasing pressure for educational time, a growing need to document resident outcomes, and a greater emphasis on clinical productivity, says Marc Shalaby, MD, FACP, program director for the internal medicine and transitional year residencies in the Department of Medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network based in Allentown, PA.
