Make sure that application deadlines, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and program information such as rotation schedules and lists of hospitals where residents train, are up to date. It is also helpful to dedicate a section of the website specifically to potential candidates that includes the following information:

  • Letter from the program director/department chair
  • Letter from the chief resident(s)
  • Promotional videos showing a typical day in the life of a resident
  • Podcasts created by residents or faculty describing what makes your program better than others
  • Sample of the new resident manual
  • Description of special training opportunities available, such as simulation centers and skill labs

This week's question and answer are from The Residency Coordinator's Handbook by Ruth Nawotniak.
